Chiropractic care is not only for back and neck pain, but can actually benefit a
wide variety of health problems which stem from the dysfunction of the spinal
joints and nervous system. The stress of everyday life, old injuries and general wear and tear can cause the vertebrae of the spine to lose their proper motion or position. This misalignment of the vertebrae may be a source of irritation to the nervous system causing pain and nerve interference throughout the body. The nerve interference
can in turn create improper function of various systems in the body leading to
poor
health, disease and degenerative changes. By correcting spinal joint dysfunction (vertebral subluxation), chiropractic care helps to restore normal nerve function
and promote self-healing.
Activator Methods is a gentle, low force program of chiropractic care. This
method of correcting spinal joint dysfunctions incorporates a unique system of administering spinal adjustments. To locate spinal subluxations, the chiropractor utilizes specific procedures, analyzes leg length inequality, detects body
mechanic problems and tests neurological reflexes. By using the Activator
analysis and the Activator instrument, the chiropractor helps to restore spinal balance safely and comfortably. The Activator is a hand-held instrument, scientifically designed to give a controlled, light and very fast thrust to the
involved spinal vertebra without causing undo strain
to the patient. This type of adjustment is so quick and controlled that the body’s muscles are less likely to resist, allowing for a more precise and exact correction. Another unique feature of the Activator technique is the chiropractor’s ability to
“zero in” on the exact area of the body causing the health problem. For these reasons, The Activator Method is safe for all patients, from infants to seniors,
since no torque, twisting, or forceful pressures are applied to the spine. A well-known chiropractic axiom is: The only side effect of chiropractic care is good health.
